2 Peter 1:1-3:18

Simon Peter, to all who believe. Through Jesus, God brings faith to us.
He's provided wonderful promises, to escape corruption and lust.

So add to your faith, virtue; then knowledge and temperance my friend.
Add patience and godliness, with brotherly love. Then charity without end.

Know, we have not taught you fables. Of Christ's coming and power we boast.
For holy men spoke of this doctrine, being moved by the Holy Ghost.

But there are false teachers among you. Whom God will cast from the fold.
Consider God's judgment so clearly revealed as we read the scriptures of old.

He spared not the angels that sinned. There's the flood of Noah's day.
And how about Sodom and Gomorrah, when God whisked Mister Lot away.

God judges those who reject. While he always delivers his own.
These teachers of lies know well their deceit. It'd be better if they had not known.

People scoff the coming of Christ. They make fun as they sing and they dance.
But God is not slack. He's long-suffering. He wants to give all a chance.

Now when Jesus returns, he'll come as a thief, at a time that no man can say,
He'll make a new heaven and then a new earth. Be ready, Christians for that day.

So my friends grow in grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I leave you this letter and then,
We'll give him the glory for all he has done, and with that, I bid you, Amen.
