Peter To Gentiles

1 Peter 1:1-5:14

Peter, Jesus' apostle, to the Gentiles all, I say,
Through Christ we have an inheritance, that fadeth not away.

You've not seen him, yet you love him. Through faith, you have salvation.
Prophets searched to understand how God, could re-deem every nation.

'Tis the precious blood of Jesus, that cleanses you and I.
As babes drink in the Word of God, that you might grow thereby.

For we are living stones. Jesus Christ is our foundation.
A peculiar people; a royal priesthood; a chosen generation.

Abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.
Let us follow Christ's example. He should always be your goal.

For he himself, bare our own sins in his body on the tree.
That we should live in righteousness. His stripes, healed you and me.

Let wives and husbands, old and young, with respect love one another.
Render not evil for evil. Show mercy to each other.

Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Have an answer for every man,
who asks you why you love the Lord. Make sure you always can.

In our former life, we lived in sin. Many want us to today.
You will suffer trials, and the loss of friends on the straight and narrow way.

Christians do not be ashamed, when you suffer for our Lord.
You're partakers of his sufferings, when you stand up for His Word.

Elders feed the flock as you have studied so to do.
Casting all your care upon the Lord. You know he cares for you.

Be sober and be vigilant, against the adversaries roar.
Show each other love and charity. You'll be together forevermore.
