2 Corinthians 6:1-11:12

As ministers of Christ, we humbly beg you now,
Live worthy of his name, as I have taught you how.

Don't be joined to unbelievers. Touch not the unclean thing.
And I will be your Father. You're children of the king.

As we taught in Macedonia, we were persecuted sore.
Titus brought us all great comfort. Your prayers have helped us more.

In the first book that I wrote you, I had to be quite stern.
But now it all is worth it, for I see that you have learned.

Though poor in Macedonia, the church gave generously.
In Corinth you are better off, but you've not supported me.

Remember though our Lord was rich, he came poor for you and me.
He left all that he had, to fix our spiritual poverty.

You had a willing mind to help. Now act on that intent.
Share in supporting ministry, with the blessing God has lent.

I told the Macedonian church of the zeal you display.
Don't let me down. I've bragged on you. Live up to what I say.

Consider what our Lord has taught. You will reap just what you sow.
Either sparingly or bountifully, give cheerfully here below.

We fight a spiritual battle. It's not based on what you see.
His letters have power, but his body's weak, is what they say of me.

My boasting is not in myself. I will glory in the Lord.
Bear with me. Just a little bit, you're my children through God's word.

I'm jealous for you my children. For you I've sacrificed.
I don't want you to be corrupted, from the simplicity in Christ.

I have preached the gospel freely, with other Church support.
Macedonia, poor as they are, made up where you fell short.
