2 Corinthians 1:1-5:21

A letter from Paul and Timothy. Wishing God's comfort for you.
In Asia we feared for our lives. Your prayers have carried us through.

I want to see you again, but my troubles bring burdens I fear.
So I send you my love. You're my fruit from above. As I write with many a tear.

I share the scriptures of old. Through a veil they teach us of Christ.
The New Testament takes that veil away. We see Jesus who gives us new life.

If our gospel be hid, it is hid to the lost. For the devil has blinded their sight.
Lest the light of our Lord should shine unto them. Satan fights us with all of his might.

We are troubled on every side. Not distressed nor in despair.
Persecuted, but not forsaken. Always kept in Jesus' care.

Knowing He who raised up our Lord, shall raise us up as well.
These are light afflictions we suffer down here, as we fight the forces of hell.

We look not at the things which are seen, for they will soon pass away.
But in this we do glory. We spread Jesus' story, and look toward that eternal day.

While we're here in the body, we're absent from the Lord. Walk by faith, and not by sight.
Labor to be accepted of Him. For one day He'll set all things right.

Each will be judged to receive their reward, according to that they have done.
Knowing God's terror, persuade all to become, new creatures through Jesus, His son.

Through Jesus, God reconciled all to himself, and committed this work to us men.
Now we're His ambassadors. Through us God speaks, that others might come to know Him.
