Then Jesus stood before Pilate. The governor at Jerusalem.
He asked, are you the king of the Jews. Jesus answered, you say that I am.

My kingdom is not of this world. Yet to this end I was born.
I've come to teach truth. But what is the truth? Asked Pilate confused and forlorn.

He went out again to the Jews. I find no fault in this man.
He's the troublemaker from Galilee. Pilot thought, why that's Herod's land.

Now Herod was visiting Jerusalem. This was Pilot's chance to sashay.
I'll send Him to Herod. This is his problem now. So Pilot sent Jesus away.

This is great, thought Herod. The miracle worker is coming to stand before me.
After questioning Christ for a very long time, Jesus gave Herod nothing to see.

So he turned Jesus over, to his strong men of war, who mocked Christ in the robe of a king.
Then back to Pilot our Lord was sent. Pilot hadn't accomplished a thing.

Pilot said it's the Passover custom, to set one prisoner free.
Either Jesus or Barabbas the murderer. They'll pick Christ, for my wife has warned me.

But the crowd yelled Barabbas. Crucify Christ. Pilot washed his hands in disgust.
His soldier scourged Jesus, put thorns on his head. Now take Him and do as you must.
