Matthew 27:1-10

The chief priests took counsel to put Jesus to death. To Pilot they lead him away?
When Judas saw that Christ was condemned, he shook his head in dismay.

Judas watched Jesus heal, then raise the dead, and when threatened just disappear.
Easy money he'd make, betraying the Lord. No harm. He had nothing to fear.

But this time the Lord Jesus made no defense. God's plan to redeem us from sin.
To Judas his plan had all crashed apart. How could this now happen to him?

He went to the priest. Here's your silver. I've sinned. I've betrayed an innocent man.
Judas threw down the money, repented in anguish, and then turn tail and ran.

He took his own life on that horrible night. A high price to pay for his greed.
How often we think little sins will not harm, but big things grow from a seed.
