2 Timothy 1:1-4:22

Timothy, without ceasing, I pray for you night and day.
Your mother and your grandmother, who faithfully taught you God's way.

Use the gift that God has given you. In nothing come behind.
You've the spirit of power and love. Not of fear, but of a sound mind.

Hold fast the form of sound doctrine, of faith and love in our Lord.
The things that I have taught you, teach others to spread the word.

We're dead to this world, but alive unto Christ. Now we suffer but then we shall reign.
Study to be approved unto God that you might not be ashamed.

The foundation of God forever stands sure. The Lord knows the names of his own.
Depart from sin and flee youthful lusts, with all those who call heaven home.

Some come naming God, but denying his power, ever learning yet know not the truth.
But you have been taught, of faith in our Lord. His word you have known from your youth.

The scripture is given by God's inspiration for instruction, reproof and correction.
That the man of God might be thoroughly furnished. Preach the word. Never fear men's rejection.

For the time will come when they'll heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.
They'll be turned unto fables, but you evangelize. Endure all; make the most of your years.

I have fought the good fight. I have finished my course. My departure is close at hand.
A crown is awaiting for me and for all, who will enter his promised land.
