John 10:22-42

At the Jerusalem feast, on Solomon's porch, the leaders were being a pain.
They surrounded Jesus, said are you the Messiah? Out with it. Tell us plain.

Jesus answered, I told you, and you believe not, even though I gave many a sign.
I healed the sick and raised the dead, but you reject every time.

My sheep hear my voice, but you're not my sheep. You try to stir doubt and strife.
I know my sheep, and they follow me. I give them eternal life.

My Father who gave them is greater than all. Against Him no one can stand.
My sheep will not perish, for no one can pluck them, out of my Father's hand.

They were angry enough when Jesus said this, claiming that He was God's son.
But this was mild compared to the rest, He said, I and my Father are one.

They took up stones to stone Him, as on Solomon's porch they trod.
For His miracles? No, but for blasphemy. He made himself equal with God.

If I do not the works of God, than of course, believed me not.
But if I do, then I challenge you, believe the works that I've wrought.

He said, I am in the Father, and the Father is in me.
At this point just red was all they could see.

They wanted to take Him but He slipped from their eyes,
To a place beyond Jordan where John first baptized.

Though the leaders despised him, the crowds didn't care.
Multitudes followed, and believed on Him there.
