The King Is Warned
Now when the time came to fight Nebuchadrezzar. He ask will I win? Jeremiah said, never. God showed baskets of figs, some good and some bad. The good follow me. The other make me sad. I will bring back the good when chastening is done. Zedekiah is bad. Of him I'll leave none. For God sent his prophets to warn you for years. They rose up and preached, but you gave them deaf ears. You turned everyone to your own evil ways. God brings Nebuchadrezzar. It's the end of your days. Those not killed he'll hold captive for seventy years. I will make this Jerusalem, a city of tears. When Jeremiah finished proclaiming God's word, Those who ruled sought to kill him, for what they had heard. They refused to repent of what they had done. God said, time is up. Nebuchadrezzar will come.
